Default I'm having router and modem issues?

I can connect to an online game's server directly through my modem but if I try to hook up my wireless I can't connect to the server anymore. I hadn't had this problem until yesterday and I cannot find the fix for it. Would this mean I'm ip banned from their server through the router but not through the modem?

No, that's not what it means, because the remote site doesn't see the IP address from the router (the ones it assigns to your systems...they are only visible on the internal network).

I've heard of the following issues affecting gaming through routers:

1. Network Address Translation (NAT) settings (NAT is the protocol that moves the data from the public IP on the modem to the private IP issued to your device by the router.

2. Encryption: I hear most game servers won't connect with WPA active. You have to drop down to WEP.

I know nothing about fixes since I don't game, but if you search here or on Google, you should find some solutions.

I don't think it works that way. most of gaming servers are connected via connection tool...
