Default can i get broadband signal 4 x box through a pc using cable?

i have a pc which has a wi-fi signal through a usb wi-fi stick is there a way of connecting my x box to the pc to use its broadband signal for my x box.without buying a wi-fi stick for the x box
i have a ethernet cable tryed connecting it from x box to pc but it didnt work.
any ideas?
apart from moving x box to router which is 2 rooms away
or
buying wi-fi stick for x box (£50.00 day light robbery)

2 types of Ethernet cords

PC to PC
Router\Modem to PC

If it is possible to hook up ur xbox through ur computers wi-fi then u would have to be using a PC to PC ethernet cord.
