How do I get the BT broadband cable out of my laptop?

How do I get the BT broadband cable out of my laptop?

My laptop's wireless had a hiccup a few months ago, so I plugged in the broadband cable and it has been happy.

However, when I tried to get the cable out, to go back to wireless, the cable won't come out.

I have tried yanking it out, wiggling it out, tried pliers to get it out.

Any tips to help my laptop let go of its little pet?
